Screamin’ Eagle Harold Blossom used his exceptional artistic talent to do a painting which depicts Steve Stuczynski in the South Pacific working on a Corsair from the VMF 312 Squadron. VMF 312, the “Checkerboard Squadron”, was Steve’s favorite squadron of Corsairs. I framed the picture and it is proudly displayed in the Gallery. Harold is shown here with the framed picture at our February 2002 Screamin’ Eagles meeting at the Gallery.

Back in September 22, 1997 Steve had written a letter to M.O. “Mo” Chance, Corsair pilot and Historian for the original VMF 312 about the Gallery and his genuine interest in VMF 312. Since Steve’s death I have been contacted by “Mo” in response to that letter and he sent a poster for the museum. “Mo’s” son lives in Madison so he may be paying us a visit some time.

Thanks Harold for the awesome painting of dad with a VMF 312 Corsair.
